Stansted Giant's player, Perry Whitlock, is running in the Bobby Moore Trust Fun Run on July 10th to raise money for a little girl called Maya, who has brain tumor and needs to go to the USA for specialist medical treatment. Maya and her family are supporters of the Romford Ice Hockey Club, which Perry also plays for. Details can be found on Maya's website. If you would like to sponsor Perry, his sponsorship form will be available at training.

After a last minute call up to go to the Nationals our brilliant young Spitfires (most of which have at least 2 more years in that age group) went up against the best teams in the country gaining valuable experience and showing off what depth of talent is in the squad for the future. After narrowly losing to Sutton Vipers, after extra time, they went on the beat the Eastbourne Penguins 9 - 0 to secure 11th place. Result

With many of the Hurricanes moving up to junior next season the Hurricanes are looking for new players, in particular a new goalie. We thought the problem was solved when an keen new goalie came to try out last week and a vote will be taken next week, in true X factor style, to see if his performance was good enough to allow him to accompany the Hurricanes to the Nationals! Jets win both their games to finish 2nd in the LESHA Junior league and secure their place at the Nationals......well done lads and lass!
Spitfires finish a very creditable 4th, just missing out on a Nationals place, and with none of the team moving up to Youth the future looks very bright for next season!
Giants finished on a high note beating old rivals the Hooters. After a mixed season of lots of draws and not enough wins, they came 6th in the Senior league.

They took on the Enforcers and were at one point 4-1 up, then with the score at 5-4 to the Giants in the second period, Adam had a minor penalty and the game had to forfeited as it only left Jon to play outfield.......well done, you nearly did it!

9.9.2007 IISHF European Junior Championships
The final 2 games in the preliminary round (against Germany and Switzerland) ended in defeat for the GB team, leaving them in 4th place after the preliminaries, but gaining them a place in the semis against Germany, winners of the first round. The semi final was won by Germany 6-2 , so GB now go on to play off for 3rd/4th place.
8.9.2007 IISHF European Junior Championships
Click on the link to follow the GB Junior teams progress. After the first day they won 3 of their 4 games only being beaten by Holland. Dan scored twice in their first game, a 8-0 defeat of Israel. Sunday morning sees them play the top teams Germany and Switzerland.
